Had tough time to return the rice cooker! Ridiculous experience....
I was asked the reason for return. "I had bought 2 one 5cups and one 10cups, felt 2 is not required hence returning the 5cups", I said. "I haven't even opened the pack so everything is intact", I continued...
The lower order attendant said "that's not a reason for return, we cannot accept".
"Then what is the accepted reason?", I asked.
He said "either it should be damaged or did not match or some such reason".
"OK so do you mean I cannot return this?", I asked.
He replied "yes".
What the heck, has Japan changed?
"OK I am not leaving the shop without returning this, could you please call your manager?", I asked.
Another person came, he was seeming to be the same person who billed the other day when we bought it. He checked the rice cooker for it's intactness, satisfied.
"Do you have the receipt", he asked.
Oh my God I am trapped now because the receipt could not be located due to the packing and cleaning work.
"Unfortunately no", I said.
"No problem sir, you've bought this with our credit card so we can get the derails from that", he said and instructed (blasted) the attendant for such behavior.
Finally when all transaction finished, he came to us and said I remember you purchasing and I was the one who billed, and we are very sorry that you initially got such a reply....
Then I realized yes still Japan has not changed...
