சீக்கிரம் எழுவது ஆபத்து...

முல்லா நசிருதீன் சிறுவனாக இருந்தபோது ஒரு நாள் கூட காலையில் விரைவில் எழுந்தது இல்லை.அவனது தந்தை எவ்வளவோ முயற்சி செய்தும் அவனை விரைவில் படுக்கையிலிருந்து எழ வைக்க முடியவில்லை.

ஒருநாள் வழக்கம்போல அவர் அதிகாலை எழுந்து வெளியே சென்றார்.அப்போது ஒரு பறவை தரையில் கிடந்த புழுவைத் தூக்கி சென்றது.  பறவை அதிகாலையில் எழுந்ததால்தானே காலை இளம் குளிரில் வெளி வந்த புழுவைப் பிடிக்க முடிந்தது என்று எண்ணினார்.

பின்னர் அவர் சாலையில் ஒரு துணிப்பை கிடப்பதைப் பார்த்து அதை எடுத்து அதில் பொற்காசுகள் இருப்பதைக் கண்டார்.  சிறிது நேரம் காத்திருந்தும் ஒருவரும் தேடி வராததால் அதிகாலையில் எழுந்ததற்குக் கிடைத்த பரிசு என்று எண்ணி வீட்டிற்கு வந்தார்.

இந்த இரண்டு நிகழ்ச்சிகளையும் நசிருதீனிடம் சொல்லி விரைந்து எழ வேண்டியதன் அவசியத்தை வற்புறுத்தலாம் என்று எண்ணி வீட்டிற்கு வந்தார்.

தந்தை எழுப்பியும் நசிருதீன் எழவில்லை.  அவன் முகத்தில் கொஞ்சம் தண்ணீரை எடுத்து ஊற்றினார்.  அப்போதும் அவன் அரைத் தூக்கத்தில் எழுந்து உட்கார்ந்தான்.  தந்தை தான் கண்ட இரு நிகழ்வுகளையும் சொல்லி மகனின் பதிலை ஆவலுடன் எதிர்பார்த்தார்.

நசிருதீன் சொன்னான்,”என்ன அப்பா,உங்களுக்கு விபரமே தெரியவில்லை.அந்தப்புழு அப்பறவை எழுமுன் எழுந்ததால்தானே அது பறவைக்கு இரையாக நேர்ந்தது.  அதேபோல் எவனோ ஒருவன் உங்களுக்குமுன் எழுந்து சென்றதால்தானே தன பொற்காசுகளைத் தொலைத்துவிட்டு இப்போது கவலைப் பட்டுக் கொண்டிருப்பான்?

எனவே சீக்கிரம் எழுவது ஆபத்துதான்,”என்று சொல்லிக் கொண்டே மீண்டும் படுக்கையில் படுத்துக் கொண்டான்.

தந்தை அதிர்ச்சியில் உறைந்து நின்றார்.

முல்லாவின் நண்பர் வருத்தத்துடன் அவரிடம் சொன்னார்,
”பத்து ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன் எனக்குத் திருமணம் ஆனது.  அப்போதெல்லாம் வேலை முடித்து நான் வீட்டுக்கு வரும் போதெல்லாம் என் மனைவி நான் வீட்டினுள் உபயோகிக்கும் செருப்புக்களை தயாராக எடுத்து வெளியே வைத்துக் காத்துக் கொண்டிருப்பாள்.  என் நாயும் வேகமாக வந்து என்னைச் சுற்றி சுற்றி வாலாட்டிக் குரைக்கும்.

இப்போது எல்லாம் மாறிவிட்டது.இப்போது என் நாய் செருப்பைக் கொண்டு வந்து தருகிறது. என் மனைவி என்னைப் பார்த்து குரைக்கிறாள்.”

முல்லா சொன்னார், ’அதனால் என்ன?முன்னால் அனுபவித்த வசதிகளை இப்போதும் அனுபவிக்கிறாய் அல்லவா? யார் செய்தால் என்ன?”

Eco friendly power

During my childhood I’ve read story of a Genie that should be kept busy else it will finish our life.  It is a very good story that I could relate with the current nuclear power reactors.  Nuclear reactors are good and friendly until they meet a mishap, once met we can’t even go near them, more importantly we can’t even just abandon them.

The era of Nuclear reactors could be classified as Before Fukushima and After Fukushima.  Even though Three Mile Island (1979) and Chernobyl (1986) were Fukushima’s immediate predecessors in terms Major nuclear incidents, Fukushima (2011) nuclear disaster has prompted to rethink of nuclear energy policy in many countries.  Germany decided to close all its reactors by 2022, and Italy has banned nuclear power.  Following Fukushima, the International Energy Agency halved its estimate of additional nuclear generating capacity to be built by 2035.

Ok lets consider various source of power generation [other than Nuclear] at a high level.

Fossil: Do you know Coal, Petroleum or Natural Gas power generators could cause hazardous impacts that are equally dangerous as Nuclear power?  “Coal fired power plants are the single largest stationary source of pollution in any country.  The toxins this coal fired power plants produce severely damage both human health and the environment and contribute to a reduced quality of life.  Greenhouse gas emissions result from fossil fuel based electricity generation.

How about the renewable power sources? 

Hydro Electricity: It is hard to digest that Hydroelectricity could cause ecosystem damage and loss of land.  Large reservoirs required for the operation of hydroelectric power stations result in submersion of extensive areas upstream of the dams, destroying biologically rich and productive lowland and riverine valley forests, marshland and grasslands. The loss of land is often exacerbated by the fact that reservoirs cause habitat fragmentation of surrounding areas. 

Wind energy is not enough to feed our need.  Additionally it requires huge real estate and it cannot sustain the amount of power thus generated.  However this is also impacting the ecology.  A study estimates that wind farms are responsible for 0.3 to 0.4 fatalities per Giga Watt-hour (GWh) of electricity generated.  Additionally the most obvious problem is the noise pollution.  The wind turbine syndrome also includes sleep problems, irritability, and depression.

Solar this is one of the most prospective areas where in we can generate power without any or very less ecological impact.  If we think so we are mistaking.  Solar energy could cause fire hazard, biodiversity hazard and human hazard.  It’s easy to think that solar panels can do no wrong— after all, they will help lead us out of our energy crisis, right? Unfortunately, these shining beacons of hope produce toxic e-waste just like cell phones, TVs, and computers.

There are other renewable sources are Agricultural biomass, Geothermal, Tidal.

Now which source of energy is Safe and eco friendly?

This is far difficult than electing the right lawmakers.  Scientists and big corporations that employ them, stand to profit greatly by highlighting the benefits of sources that they propose to be safe.  Hence no wonder they try to hide the dangers of the technology and suppress any open discussion of them.

Each source of energy has its own risks and of course every technology has risks.  We might be willing to tolerate some small risk—if solar energy really represented a permanent solution to our energy problems. However that is not the case.  At best, solar energy is only a temporary band-aid.  Recent calculations indicate that the "Sun Will Go Out in a Billion Years As Its Fuel Runs Out".  As that calculation was made about 15 years ago, we now have only nine-hundred ninety-nine million, nine-hundred ninety-nine thousand, nine-hundred and eighty-five years left during which we could use solar energy.  Wouldn't it be better to put our human resources and scientific brains to work to find a safer and more permanent solution to our energy needs?

Conclusion: If you know what are the risks of the technology and have a clean disaster recovery/management plan then any source of energy is safe.  However we could minimize the impact by optimally using the electricity only where and when required.  Exorbitant utilization of energy leads to wastage of the resources and cause serious side effects.

ஞானம் பெற விரும்பிய ஒருவன் இறைவனிடம் சென்று ஞானம் பெற வழி கேட்டான்.
இறைவன் சொன்னார்,”அப்பா,இப்போது வெயில் மிக அதிகமாக இருப்பதால் தாகம் எடுக்கிறது எனக்கு முதலில் நீ கொஞ்சம் தண்ணீர் கொண்டு வா,”


அவனும் ஓடிச் சென்று முதலில் தென்பட்ட வீட்டின் கதவைத் தட்டினான்.ஒரு அழகிய இளம்பெண் கதவைத் திறந்தாள்.அவளைப் பார்த்தவுடன் அவனுக்கு அந்தப்பெண் மீது காதல் பிறந்தது.அந்தப் பெண்ணும் சம்மதிக்கவே அவளைத் திருமணம் செய்து கொண்டு நான்கு பிள்ளைகளையும் பெற்றான்.


ஒரு நாள் கடுமையான மழை பெய்தது.எங்கு பார்த்தாலும் தண்ணீர்.வீடுகள் அடித்து செல்லப்பட்டன.அவனும் தன மனைவியையும் குழந்தைகளையும் கையில் பிடித்துக்கொண்டு சென்றான் அப்படியிருந்தும் அவர்களைத் தண்ணீர் இழுத்துச் சென்று விட்டது.


அடுத்து அவனையும் தண்ணீர் இழுத்தபோது,”கடவுளே,என்னைக் காப்பாற்று,”என்று கத்தினான்.
அப்போது இறைவன் அவனிடம் கேட்டார்


”அப்பா,தாகத்துக்கு தண்ணீர் கேட்டேனே,என்ன ஆயிற்று?”

ஒரு ஊரில் ஒரு முட்டாள் பணக்காரர் இருந்தார். அவர் பெரிய பங்களா ஒன்று
கட்டினார். அவை பார்வையிட தன் நண்பர்களுக்கு விருந்து ஒன்றை ஏற்பாடு செய்தார்.
வந்திருந்தவர்கள் அனைவரும் பங்களாவின் அழகை வெகுவாக பாராட்டினர். பின்பு
பங்களாவின் பின்புறம் சென்று பார்த்தனர்.

அங்கு மூன்று நீச்சல் குளங்கள் இருந்தது. அனைவரும் ஆச்சர்யத்துடன் எதற்காக 3
நீச்சல் குளங்கள் என்று கேட்டனர்.

அதற்கு அந்த பணக்காரர் ஒன்று வெந்நீர் குளியல் வேண்டும் என்பவர்களுக்காக,
மற்றொன்று குளிர்ந்த நீர் வேண்டும் என்பவர்களுக்காக என்றார்.

அனைவரும் வெந்நீர் சரி, தண்ணீர் சரி. காலியாக இருக்கின்றதே அது எதற்கு என்று
கேட்டனர். அது நீச்சல் தெரியாதவர்களுக்காக என்றார்.

புதிதாக பள்ளிக்கு வந்த ஆசிரியை ஒருவர் வகுப்பறையில் பாடம் எடுக்க நுழைந்தார்.

தனியாக நின்று கொண்டிருக்கிறீர்கள். எனக்கு மிகவும் கஷ்டமாக இருந்தது. அதனால்
தான் துணைக்கு நானும் நிற்கிறேன் என்றான்.

Latest Mobile Mix report sees Android at 56 percent of network share:

The newest Mobile Mix report is out, giving us a decent look at the mobile landscape through October 2011. There's not a ton new this time around however we figured some of it was worth sharing. Android, as a platform, remains the top mobile platform on the network at 56 percent, even after factoring in smartphones and other connected devices. Apple, for its part, follows in second place at 28 percent. In terms of ad spending, Android also leads all at 50 percent share.

Samsung has made some movement, growing 7 percent month-over-month and accounting for six of the top twenty phones on the Millennial Media network. Making their debut on the top 20 this month were the Nexus S and Galaxy S.

Other noteworthy bullet points from the October report.

• Impressions coming over a Wi-Fi network increased 19 percent month-over-month, and accounted for 35 percent of all impressions. This was primarily due to heavy usage on smartphones and connected devices.


• Impressions from touch screen devices grew 44 percent year-over-year and made up 69 percent of total impressions on our platform. This also speaks to the increased popularity of smartphones and connected devices.


• 40 percent of all developers listed “Developing new apps” as their top goal for 2012—over goals such as “Maximizing revenue” or “Learning a new programming language.”

ஒரு காட்டிற்கு இரண்டு மரவெட்டிகள் சென்றார்கள், மாலை மீண்டும் இருவரும் கூடும் போது ஒருவரிடம் அதிக விறகும் மேலும் அவர் அதிக களைப்படையாமலும் இருந்தார்.


மற்றொருவருக்கோ பயங்கர ஆச்சர்யம். நம்மை போல தானே அவனும், அவனால் மட்டும் இப்படி இது சாத்தியமானது என்று. ஆர்வம் தாங்காமல் அவனிடமே கேட்டு விட்டான்!


நண்பன் அவனிடம் கேட்டான், இந்த விறகுகளுக்காக நீ என்ன செய்தாய் என்று! அவன் சொன்னான், இடை விடாமல் வெட்டி கொண்டே இருந்தேன் என்று.


சிறிதும் ஓய்வு இல்லாமலா என்று கேட்டான் நண்பன்.


ஆம் அதிக விறகுகள் பெற வேண்டுமே ஆனால் நீ கொஞ்சமும் களைப்படையாமல் இருப்பது எப்படி
என்று கேட்டான்!


நான் இடையில் அடிக்கடி ஓய்வு எடுத்து கொள்வேன் என்று சொன்னான் நண்பன்!


மறுநாள் அவனும் அதே போல் ஓய்வு எடுத்து எடுத்து மரம் வெட்டினான், இருப்பினும் அவனால் நண்பன் அளவுக்கு மரம் வெட்டமுடியவில்லை.


மறுநாள் மரம் வெட்டும் போது ஒளிந்திருந்து பார்க்க வேண்டும் என்று திட்டமிட்டு வீடு திரும்பினான்.
மறுநாள் மரம் வெட்ட பிரிந்து சென்ற பின்,


அவன் நண்பனை பின் தொடர்ந்து சென்றான், நண்பனும் அரைமணி நேரம் மரம் வெட்டி விட்டு ஓய்வாக
அமர்ந்தான்.


ஆனால் அவன் ஓய்வு நேரத்தில் அவனது கோடாலியை தீட்டி கொண்டிருந்தான்!

Prejudice...

A young man was getting ready to graduate college. For many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer’s showroom, and knowing his father could well afford it, he told him that was all he wanted.

As Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited signs that his father had purchased the car. Finally, on the
morning of his graduation his father called him into his private study. His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine son, and told him how much he loved him. He handed his son a beautiful wrapped gift box.

Curious, but somewhat disappointed the young man opened the box and found a lovely, leather-bound Bible. Angrily, he raised his voice at his father and said, “With all your money you give me a Bible?” and stormed out of the house, leaving the holy book.

Many years passed and the young man was very successful in business.

He had a beautiful home and wonderful family, but realized his father was very old, and thought perhaps he should go to him. He had not seen him since that graduation day. Before he could make arrangements, he received a telegram telling him his father had passed away, and willed all of his possessions to his son. He needed to come home immediately and take care things. When he arrived at his father’s house, sudden sadness and regret filled his heart.

He began to search his father’s important papers and saw the still new Bible, just as he had left it years ago. With
tears, he opened the Bible and began to turn the pages. As he read those words, a car key dropped from an envelope taped behind the Bible.

It had a tag with the dealer’s name, the same dealer who had the sports car he had desired. On the tag was the date of his graduation, and the words…PAID IN FULL.

How many times do we miss God’s blessings because they are not packaged as we expected?

ஹிட்லர்: (மலர்ந்த முகத்துடன்) அப்படியா நல்லது,
இதோ கூலி! இரட்டிப்புத் தொகையாக வாங்கிக் கொள்!

டிரைவர் (பணத்தை எண்ணி விட்டு) கிடக்கட்டும் ஐயா,
ஹிட்லருமாச்சு, பொட்லருமாச்சு, உங்களுக்கு எப்போது
வண்டி வேண்டும் என்று சொன்னீர்கள்?

நேர்ந்தது.

உடனே..அக்பர்…’பார்த்தாயா..பீர்பால், புகையிலையை
கழுதை கூட விரும்பவில்லை’என்றார்.

தமது புகையிலையைப் போடும் பழக்கத்தையே
அவ்வாறு கிண்டல் செய்கிறார் என்பதை அறிந்த
பிர்பால்.ஆம்..மன்னா..கழுதைகள்தான் புகையிலையை
விரும்பாது என்றார்.

First experience in landing at Bangalore International Airport

Boarded Air Asia Flight AK221 with profound excitement as I was awaiting to see my family after 3 months.  The flight was scheduled to take off at 1530hrs and actually taken out of hangar 10 min late.  Some how we are on air flying above about 10km.  Could not sleep as the flight was for
3.5hrs. Food was served *BLEH*.  Suddenly was seeing a gulf and was betting to myself that it must be 'Gulf of Mannar' (later verified and confirmed with http://maps.google.com What a beautiful Gulf, given a choice I will stay there.
Few minutes while flying over Trichy was seeing river Cauvery, was great to see with water flowing.

Finally landed at Bengaluru International Airport, Devanahalli. While I was wondering why the h*** the aircraft is parked crossly, there came a vehicle to tow it away. Seems the pilot went to a wrong hangar, where it cannot fit.

10 min later the door was open. Every body rushed out as if, if they delay a minute the aircraft will take off again, hee hee me too joined the crowd.

Immigration: was quick no questions asked except "What are you doing in Japan Sir?" I answered him and came out, there waiting an attendant to check the immigration seal.

After his verification proceeded to the hand luggage checking section, put my back pouch, with the tablet and the luggage and was walking across the metal detector. No beeps...

"Sir are these your luggages?", asked a madam and a sir. "Yes", claimed I. "Oh please come this side sir", said the Officers. I went near them. "Are you carrying currency?" the officer asked me. "Yes" answered I with out any hesitation, as I was carrying some Indian Rupees.
"How much Sir?"
"about two thousand" said in a guess.
"It will be more"
"OK say five thousand", said I.
"No Sir it MUST be in lakhs", claimed the Officer.
I was very sure that the Officers are upto something and said, "if you don't believe I can show it to you". "OK which bag should I open"? I asked the Officer.

He pointed the bag that does not have the currency. "No sir no cash on that" claimed I.
"OK show the other one", said the Officer

I sincerely opened the back pack and removed the hip pouch, then that Officer said to his fellow Officer in Kannada, "tumba chikkatu bit bidi" and said "ok ok you may go Sir".

After grabbing all the items, I proceeded to the baggage claim. Was waiting for about 20 minutes then my big box came with 'X' marks all over it. Waiting for the next smaller box I was thinking, not sure what this 'X' mean.

Ah there comes my small box. Proceeded to customs. "Come sir we have to scan your luggage" said the Officer. Oh dear not again...this time what is going to be their claim.

Loaded the box on the x-ray machine, "Come here" called the officer looking at me. As I went near him he asked me pointing the three items that were high lighted. Admiring three technology I was scratching my memory to recollect what I packed. Unfortunately I could recognize only one item that was bought for my brother and identified to him "this is a ceramic knife". "is it wrapped?" asked he. "yes sir these are just on their pack, I bought several gifts and just dumped them in last minute, cannot remember which is which.

The officer was ok with my answer in identifying the knife, but was adamant in knowing what the other two items were...Unfortunately I could not recollect it at all. After struggling for 20 min the officer gave up, he asked my passport, saw me twice from top to bottom then left me.

With a big thanks I left the place. and now its another challenge, the taxi drivers. I have to go to White Field and I am sure it will cost more than what I paid for KUL-BLR sector. Dodging them I reached the bus stop, to my surprise there waiting a bus to leave in another 5 min.

Loaded the bus with my luggages, came out again to keep the trolley in its proper place. Although the bus was scheduled to leave in 5 min. Mean while few more boarded the bus and they did not bother about the trolley which was left haphazard...

I said to myself "Welcome to India".

வேகம் விவேகமல்ல…!

ஒரு கிராமத்தில் ஞானி ஒருவர் இளைஞர்களுக்கு கல்வி
போதித்து வந்தார். நிதானமாகவும் அதே சமயம் அவர்கள்
மனதில் நன்கு பதியுமாறும், அவர் சொல்லிக் கொடுத்த
வேகம் மாணவர்களில் ஒருவனுக்குப் பிடிக்கவில்லை.

ஒரே சமயத்தில் எல்லாவற்றையும் சொல்லிக் கொடுப்பதை
விட்டு விட்டு மெதுவாக நாள் கடத்திக் கொண்டே
இருக்கிறார்’ என்று குற்றம் சாட்டினான்.

விஷயத்தைக் கேள்விப்பட்ட ஞானி அந்த மாணவனை
அழைத்தார். பக்கத்திலிருந்த ஒரு பெரிய விறகுக் கட்டைக்
காண்பித்து ‘அதைத் தூக்கி வெளியே கொண்டு போய் வை’
என்றார்.

விறகுக் கட்டைத் தூக்க முயன்ற மாணவன் அதன் கனம்
தாங்காமல் தவித்தான். ‘தூக்க முடியவில்லை’ என்று தன்
தோல்வியை ஒப்புக் கொண்டான்.

இப்போது கட்டைப் பிரித்து விறகுகளைக் கொஞ்சமாகக்
கொண்டு வை’ என்றார் ஞானி.

அவனும் அவ்வாறே கொண்டு வைத்தான். விரைவில்
விறகுகள் இடம்பெயர்ந்தன.

‘உனக்குக் கற்பிப்பதும் இப்படித்தான். ஒரேடியாக உன்
மூளைக்குள் திணித்தால் நீ திணறித்தான் போவாய். கொஞ்சம்
கொஞ்சமாக அதே சமயம் முழுமையாகக் கற்றுக்
கொண்டாயானால் அது நிரந்தரமாக உன் மனதில் தங்கும்’
என்று விளக்கினார் ஞானி.

மாணவன் புரிந்து கொண்டான்.
